I am an artist, and an environmentalist. Over the last few years I have worked to weave the two together in my work, creating a series of studies on landscapes. As this work has transformed over time, I have started incorporating architecture and playing with how buildings and man-made structures sit in their environment.  While my strong convictions about the environment have been a lifelong pursuit, it has been in more recent years that I have developed my skills as an artist earning my BA in Painting and Drawing from the University of Washington. I have spent much of my life exploring nature in the mountains of Southern Oregon, the coasts of the Pacific Northwest, and spending summers living outside in the San Juan Islands. My work primarily focuses on capturing natural landscapes, creating studies on crashing waves and rolling clouds. One of my goals as an artist is to really document the world as I have experienced it, finding ways to evoke a feeling or an emotion that is based in the setting within the painting. As the world we live in is continually and quickly changing, I try to focus my work on the environment and the landscapes I have called home for so long. I am both a passionate artist and a passionate environmentalist. I believe that art can be such a beautiful way to get people interested in the outdoors, and I want to be a part of that mission.
